# 02. Add and assign tasks

Tasks are the heart of Lumbre. Each one has a single owner, so it's always clear who's on it.

## Add a task

Click **\+ Add task** at the bottom of any section, or press `N` anywhere in a project. Type the title and press `Enter` to add the next one.

## Assign and schedule

- Type `@` and a name in the title to assign it: *Review the brief @Ana*.
- Type a date in plain words: *tomorrow*, *next friday*, *oct 15*.
- Add a start date to show the task as a bar on the calendar.

## Checklists and files

Break a task into steps with a checklist. Drag files onto the task to attach them, or link them from Google Drive.
