# 02. Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) asks for a code from your phone when you sign in from a new device.

## Turn it on

1. Go to **Profile → Security** and click **Enable 2FA**.
2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (1Password, Google Authenticator, Authy…).
3. Enter the 6-digit code to confirm.
4. Save your recovery codes somewhere safe.

## Require 2FA for everyone

Admins on the Business plan can require 2FA for the whole workspace in **Settings → Security**.

#### I lost my phone. How do I sign in?

Use one of your recovery codes. If you don't have them, an admin of your workspace can reset 2FA for you.
